Fun in the Sun

Pat and I had a great time on our day off...we made our way to Michigan's Adventure for some much needed fun in the sun! We started out by heading to Rainy Days Cafe for breakfast; stopped at Target to get new swim shorts for Pat and a cover-up for me; then drove a short 20 minutes to the entrance of the park.
The weather was 83 degrees and sunny with low humidity - perfect! We hit up the Thunder Hawk first and then some other rides. Then we ate at the 50s style diner and made our way to the water park.
Can I just say that I was slightly self-consious of my new bathing suit...it's a little low-cut on top for my usual taste, but it's a bathing suit and who doesn't like to show a little cleavage now and then. Oh, but I had nothing to worry about there. It seemed like the tighter or skimpier your suit was the better. Not to mention, your weight was not a factor. Some of the "swim suits" the ladies were wearing were about to bust at the seems but somehow managed to stay together. Needless to say, Pat and I had fun people watching.
Then we dried off and went back into the park and rode some more rides and ventured to the Rip Cord! The Rip Cord is similar to bungy jumping but you are laying on your stomach in a harness rather than the harness being around your feet. They haul you up attached to this cord and then announce 3, 2, 1, Pull! Pat pulled the cord and we started to free fall. The rush was amazing! You swing outward and then back and forth a few times before it's over. It's so quick, but worth it!! We want to try skydiving next!
We finished out our day with chocolate ice cream cones as we made our way back to the van. Minus the fact that Pat broke both our sunglasses, and jumped in the wave pool with his watch on (it didn't survive), we had a fabulous day!
